Gregg really knows his stuff and has developed a great manner of explaining how things work. I’ve learned a lot.

I took several lessons with Gregg, and I can attest that he is a talented guitarist as well as a passionate teacher who listens to his students and wants to help you achieve your goals. He encourages practice, but does not berate you when life overtakes things. His years of work as a teacher (as well as his own learning history) have helped him to figure out what really works, and he is excited and patient in sharing that with his students. He also has many guitars in his studio, which means you don’t have to bring yours with you if it is not convenient. In addition to the instruction, Gregg volunteers a lot of his time with Guitars Not Guns (www.guitarsnotguns.org) – a program that uses music as a catalyst to encourage children and teens to use their creativity to foster personal development and to help divert them from self-destructive influences such as drugs, alcohol and gang-related activities. They get free lessons, and if they complete the program they get to keep the guitar! The program’s goal is to reduce gun violence and other destructive behaviors in our city. I recommend supporting businesses run by people like Gregg, who provides great instruction and also works to make a positive impact in our community!

Gregg has significantly shortened the time it would take me to transition from beginner to intermediate guitarist. His approach is practical and systematic. Fantastic studio. Good location. Nice guy. Easy to work with.

First guitar lesson ever. 1) the studio is a great space – very comfortable, and inviting. Gregg was very personable, and easy to talk to – but most of all patient with my bumbling fingers, and provided a lot of great information for a beginner. I look forward to our follow-ups.

I’m a beginner learning electric guitar and have been taking lessons from Gregg for about 1 year. He is a great guy and his lessons have been great, a good mix of technique, practice reasons with some music theory mixed in. At the same time, he is flexible enough to devote time to what you what to focus on, too, whcih helps keep you engaged and interested. I’ve learned a lot. Finally, he has a large selection of guitars to practice with, which is great if you want to see how playing a strat compares with a tele or a Gibson SG. Highly recommend.

I went from not know how to playing one note to being able to play multiple popular R&B songs in just months. His approach to teaching helps you become a successful guitar player and not just good at playing 1 or 2 songs. He helped me with my first performance during my wedding. This was only after 8 months of playing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bs7WR1FdlWk
