I can’t say enough great things about Gregg. I was an absolute beginner when I signed up with Gregg. My wife and I started classes last February and we already created a song list with over 10 songs that we will be performing at campfires this summer.
Gregg makes learning guitar fun. He is cool and laid back, an overall good teacher. Any mistake with form is addressed to protect you from creating bad habits. Gregg has his curriculum, but will adjust it to your needs and music taste. I look forward to my classes every week.
We not only learn how to play but Gregg is also very helpful giving tips on the strings, tuning, equipment and other things related to guitars.

I started taking guitar classes in January, I have just completed my first 10 classes batch and I am definitely going to have other 10! Gregg Hammond is absolutely amazing: when I started, I didn’t have any flexibility, fluidity on both my hands, especially the right hand, and after a few classes, and of course a lot of practice and homework Gregg kindly assigned to me, I already noticed a good progress. Gregg is patient, fun, time flies while playing with him! Can’t wait to start my next 10 classes.

I took several lessons with Gregg; and I can attest that he is a talented guitarist as well as a passionate teacher who wants to help you achieve your goals.  He encourages practice, but does not berate you when life overtakes things.  His years of work as a teacher (as well as his own learning history) have helped him to figure out what really works, and he is excited and patient in sharing that with his students.  He also has many guitars in his studio, which means you don’t have to bring yours with you if it is not convenient.

In addition to the instruction, Gregg volunteers a lot of time with Guitars Not Guns (guitarsnotguns.org) – a program that uses music as a catalyst to encourage children and teens to use their creativity to foster personal development and to help divert them from self-destructive influences such as drugs, alcohol and gang-related activities.  They get free lessons, and if they complete the program they get to keep the guitar!  The program’s goal is to reduce gun violence and other destructive behaviors in our city.

I think it is great to support someone who not only provides great instruction, but also is working to make an impact in our community like this!
